About 266 million people use Yahoo! Mail, which means the chances of getting an address with your name is pretty poor at this point. Yahoo! made things a bit easier by opening up two new domains, @ymail.com and @rocketmail.com.
RocketMail was one of the first major free webmail services ,It was purchased by Yahoo! in 1997. In yahoo corp blog , John Kremer says RocketMail is back for a new generation to enjoy.
One can get email account under the new domains at around 3 p.m. ET Thursday at http://mail.yahoo.com

The Yahoo said people can finally say goodbye to lengthy email addresses, such as CutiePie4Ever80 or mattclark1977@yahoo.com, with the introduction of "@ymail.com" and "@rocketmail.com."

"We recognize that people want an e-mail address that reflects who they are, whether they are signing up for an e-mail address for the first time, or simply updating their e-mail pseudonym to reflect the stage they are at in life," said John Kremer, vice president, Yahoo! Mail, in a statement

People who sign up under the new domains will have access to the same features as the older domain, such as unlimited storage, integrated IM, and spam and virus protection.
